Internal Cladding
A beautiful pale wood grown in Finland, Aspen has been used in Saunas in Finland throughout the ages due to its soft silky nature. It is naturally knot and resin free which ensures it stays safe to touch at high temperatures.
Treated up to 190°c, Thermo Aspen gives an incredibly luxurious finish to the Sauna with incredible life expectancy. The treatment ensures the wood is incredibly stable to moisture change and the heat of the Sauna and produces a beautiful caramel colour.
Western Red Cedar is a soft, colourful timber with an aromatic, soothing scent. It is highly resistant to rot and decay and possesses excellent dimensional stability, proving itself as the premier choice for Sauna cladding. The boards differ greatly from one another giving a beautiful multi-tone affect.
Although not as soft or flawless as the other timbers on offer, Spruce remains stable in the Sauna environment and is the most traditional and cost effective of the cladding options we offer proving a very good internal cladding material when building a financially accessible Sauna.
External cladding
AA grade, kiln dried larch cladding with a half lap profile. We can machine almost any profile timber should you have your own preference.
We can offer many cladding color options. We use a tint oil rather than a paint ensuring the true nature of the wood prevails through.
A highly durable locally grown timber, for a more wild, rustic style.
